Our CAMPT-Certified physiotherapists are Fellows of the Canadian Academy of Manual and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists (FCAMPT) that have completed post-graduate education and attained internationally-recognized qualifications in hands-on therapy. Hands-on physiotherapy techniques are meant to facilitate better joint mobility, improve fascial and muscle flexibility, and promote flow of blood, lymph and nutrients.
FAQ’s
What should I expect?
Your physiotherapist will assess your mobility and function. Physiotherapy is a hands-on assessment and treatment approach. With your explicit consent, your physiotherapist will evaluate where your movement is impaired and how it affects your function. When the issue is established, your physiotherapist may use joint mobilizations and soft tissue massage to address the findings.
Manual therapy is part of a comprehensive treatment plan, combined with education and exercise.
How should I dress?
Please come in loosely fitting clothes to allow your physiotherapist to see and assess your movements and your muscle activation.
Is physiotherapy painful?
physiotherapy shouldn’t be painful, but it may involve some mild discomfort — especially when working on stiff joints or tight muscles. Your physiotherapist will always work within your comfort level and adjust techniques to suit your pain tolerance. The goal is to help you move better and reduce pain over time, not make it worse. Most clients find that as their mobility improves, any initial discomfort quickly turns into relief and progress.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments depends on your specific condition, how long you’ve had it, and your personal goals. Some people feel noticeable improvement after just a few sessions, while others with more chronic or complex issues may need ongoing care over several weeks. Your physiotherapist will assess your situation during your first visit and create a personalized treatment plan so you know what to expect right from the start.
Does insurance cover physiotherapy?
Yes, they cover some or part of the cost depeding on your coverage. We direct bill most insurance providers in Alberta.
